Samplers

You can use a sampler to model probabilistic processes and to generate data. For example, you can build a sampler to model flipping a fair (or biased) coin or the probability of rain; run the sampler to collect data in a results table; and analyze the results table data in a plot to explore questions about the probability of various events. See Working with a Sampler for more detailed information.

Drag a device from the bottom panel of the sampler into the sampler's interior to replace an existing device or add a new device. As you drag, pink dots will show you the locations you can drop the device; be sure a black rectangle is highlighted before you actually drop the device.

Add a new element to a device by mousing over it, then clicking the button under the device. Delete the last element by clicking the button.

Add a numeric or alphabetic range of elements by clicking the range button (...) and entering the desired range in the dialog box.

To see more device controls (such as non-replacement), hold your cursor over the device to reveal the panel of controls, then click the arrow to reveal the Device Options menu.

Adjust the sections of a spinner device (as shown here), by dragging a section boundary.
